RIP.FUN is an innovative Web3 platform on the Base blockchain that brings the thrill of physically opening booster packs to the digital world. Unlike platforms that repackage or digitize existing cards, RIP.FUN focuses on opening brand-new, sealed physical packs, with every unboxing video-recorded for full authenticity. The "rip, collect, redeem, repeat" model offers a unique and transparent experience that closely mirrors the excitement of in-person pack openings. Alongside the sealed packs it runs a mystery-pack line whose tiers each publish their own odds, value bands and target expected value; those tiers now cover One Piece as well as Pokémon.
How It Works
Users purchase real, sealed booster packs through the platform. Each pack is physically opened ("ripped") on camera, creating a video record of the unboxing. The revealed cards are then tokenized as NFTs on the Base blockchain, with each digital card backed by the real physical card stored by RIP.FUN. The mystery-pack tiers work the other way round: you pay a fixed price and draw from a published pool, with the tier's odds, per-rarity value bands and target EV all shown before you open. Either way you can trade the result instantly on the marketplace, sell it back (86% of value on mystery cards, 90% on sealed mystery packs), or redeem the NFT to have the physical item shipped to you. Every mystery open also pays out Gems, the platform's rewards currency, at one Gem per $5 spent.
